Ilena Dang

About Me

Hi! My name is Ilena Dang and I am a student at Skyline High School. Entrepreneurship has always been an area of interest for me, largely inspired by my aspirations to make something of myself and instill positive changes within my community. I greatly value compassion, hard work, and purpose-driven actions. Additionally, I am an avid believer in the outdoors, a large advocate for the environment, and hope to reflect my values in my ventures.

My experiences with DECA, FBLA, and my internship at NWL Architects have further deepened my passion for business. Interning at an architecture firm showed me the possibilities beyond the classroom and I look forward to immersing myself in the real-life experiences of the CEO program. Furthermore, I am excited to have the opportunity to connect with field professionals and like-minded, driven students.

I am not afraid to step out of my comfort zone and take on challenges. Throughout my academic journey, I have consistently been enrolled in advanced classes, from gifted and talented programs to AP and IB classes. Beyond academics, I like to spend my time discovering new films and books, hiking, snowboarding, and engaging in extracurriculars. I have been a competitive figure skater for 10 years and have been involved in various sports teams, including tennis, dance, lacrosse and varsity cheer at Skyline. I also love dedicating much of my time to volunteering both within and outside of school. I serve as the events committee chair for Millcreek Youth Council, an educational mentor for the Promise SSL Program, president of National Honor Society and am a member of Community of Caring, Key Club, and the Asian Association of Utah.
